Carlin's Here Comes Trouble
AKA Laoghaire (Leery)
Had a chance to foster a puppy for a breeder who went in the hospital. Things turned out not so great for her and now Laoghaire became available to us.
She has been here for about a month now and was born Aug. 21, 2018. Now almost two years old she has taken the house by storm, hence the registered name of Here Comes Trouble.
I have not had a puppy this young since our 10 yr old sheltie, Geordi, and had forgotten how much work they are just potty training and keeping them from tearing up the house.
I came up with her name, Laoghaire, (pronounced Leery) as two of our other dogs' names were taken from the books and show series, Outlander.
We now have a Bree, Roger Mac (Mac for short) and now Laoghaire. This name by the way if you have not guessed is Scottish Gaelic.
Being a very very outgoing puppy I hope to take one last stab at going into the obedience/rally ring as she is from a very competitive agility line.
She is also going to be my venture back into the world of breeding quality Shetland sheepdogs as I have already sent in DNA for testing her for genetic issues.
Being a tri color she will be very compatible to breed with Mac, my bi blue male. Also am considering breeding her to a pure for sable boy that is a half brother to Bree and a Grand Champion. Time will tell as this will be a couple years down the line.
Right now we just have to concentrate on getting her housebroken and acclimated to being a social butterfly.
I expect great things from this girl so stay tuned for more updates.
Meanwhile enjoy her pictures.
UPDATE: Sadly after trying four times to breed her, once even to a different male, Laoghaire just would NOT get pregnant. So I decided the best thing was to spay her and she now is retired from the breeding program.
Due to absolutely hating being away from home I decided to not train and show her as well. So now she is just going to be her puppy self, waging war on her toys and generally just being a border collie in a sheltie suit.
