Alfred Alexander Butler and Docia Frances Fletcher were parents to Nellie Lee Butler. She was born in Adair Co., Kentucky on Oct. 5, 1857 and died in Adair Co., Kentucky on Jan. 5, 1956. Alfred was born in Metcalfe Co., Kentucky on March 22, 1843 and died in Cumberland Co., Kentucky on Aug. 12, 1913.
These are my paternal Great Grandparents. John Steven Neal was born in Clinton Co., Kentucky on Dec. 17, 1867. He died in Edgar Co., Illinois on Dec. 16, 1945. Arminta Shaw, his wife, was born Cumberland Co., Kentucky on Nov. 16, 1874 and died in Edgar Co., Kentucky on May 21, 1964. She went by Minnie and her husband went by his middle name, Steve.
Nellie Lee Butler and Dennis Orvil Neal around 1920. Baby in the picture is my Uncle Hubert Allen Neal born 1919. These are my father's parents and brother. My Grandfather was born April 4, 1898. My Grandmother on June 4, 1899. They eloped to Moss Co., TN and married on July 23, 1918. He passed away on July 6, 1971 and she on June 6, 2004. Yep she was 104 years old.
